Filming Blog: The Last Day of Filming


Today was October 7th, 2021. It was day 2 of filming and the last day to film my commercial. Today was an amazing filming day. I got a lot done in so little time. What I mean by so little time is that today was a Professional Study Day aka PSD. On Professional Study Days, we get out of school at 11:40 and only have less than 1 hour in each class. So, for me to have gotten so much done today, I’m super proud of myself and how I managed my time. Today, filming occurred at the media center stairs that are directly in front of the bus loop (which is shown in the media above). I was able to come up with new ideas to incorporate into my commercial as well. Just like day 1, I had one of my classmates help me out by recording me as I was acting because I am an actor in my own commercial. I was able to film the first half of my commercial today despite the day being pretty short. Today, I also had a problem. My side character in the commercial, was actually absent. So, I had to think fast and come up with an idea of how to get the needed scenes. As a solution, I decided to have one of my classmates replace my side character’s actor due to me not filming my side character’s scenes yet. I was able to guide my classmate and help her learn what to do fast. I am very grateful that my classmate was up for the task and was able to help me out. When I was halfway into filming, the school buses came and ended up kind of interrupting my filming. But thankfully, when the buses came, the only parts I had left to film where the parts that music was going to go over so I didn’t have too much of a problem with that. So, all of my filming is done and now I’m ready to start editing my commercial.

The third genre that my group will be researching is comedy.  Lighting used in comedic movies usually are three-point, high key, and low key lighting. The lighting is used to set the mood of the scenes and match the settings as well. For example, if someone is at a party, they will most likely use low key lighting to portray the fact that the characters are at a party. Camera angles most used in comedy films are high angles, low angles, and dutch angles. The low angle is used to make the person appear more dominate over someone or something. High angles are used to do the exact opposite of what low angle does for the actor. Scene 3 No dialogue.  Scene 4 Jayden- ...hello?  Treneé Parker -...uhh...hi, how can I help you? *Stands up and dusts off her pants* Jayden- Yeah, I was wondering where your boss might be? Production Blog: Filming

The filming process for this music video was a long one. I decided that I wanted to make changes to the plot of the music video right before I started filming and everything. While filming, I made an accident and followed my storyboard. Then I realized later on that my storyboard was not what I was supposed to be following. I was supposed to follow the changes that I had written down in my "Notes" app on my phone. So once I realized that, I went ahead and made more storage on my filming device. My filming device was just my cell phone. But, I cleared storage by just simply permanently deleting the takes that I didn't need since the plot changed. So while filming, I came across some troubles. Since I was the main character, some times I couldn't make shots the way I wanted to. But, of I had a backup plan. I had to finesse it in one way or another so I had to go ahead and use my backup plan. My backup cameraman was my little sister. Thankfully she was able to help me. I...
