Production Blog: Cast Issues


For the final project, my group decided to let me take control of casting. The reasons why was because of many reasons. One reason that I know how to get things done. My group mates know I don’t play around when it comes to big things like this. Another reason was because they know that I’m pretty popular. They knew that because of how known I am, it wouldn’t be hard to find cast members. Boy were they wrong. Yes, I get things done. They were right about that. But they were wrong about it being easy to find cast members. Actually it was pretty easy to find people. But, it was hard to find somebody who wasn’t busy to be apart of the cast. For one, I found my main female character in a quick second. Now, my group and I wanted to include a male character. I know a lot of males but every male that I knew was busy. Luckily, I found one. Sadly, he bailed on me and I had to find a replacement. I couldn’t find a replacement male so we decided that the male character would just be changed to a woman. Then, my main female character bailed on me as well. She has family issues so I had to replace her as well.

Genre Research Blog: Comedy

The third genre that my group will be researching is comedy.  Lighting used in comedic movies usually are three-point, high key, and low key lighting. The lighting is used to set the mood of the scenes and match the settings as well. For example, if someone is at a party, they will most likely use low key lighting to portray the fact that the characters are at a party. Camera angles most used in comedy films are high angles, low angles, and dutch angles. The low angle is used to make the person appear more dominate over someone or something. High angles are used to do the exact opposite of what low angle does for the actor. High angle makes the actor appear more vulnerable or make it known that there is something or someone higher or above the actor. Dutch angles are used to add an dramatic effect to either a confusing or awkward situation. Camera movements used in comedy films are pan, tilt, handheld, zooms and steadicams. Sound Script The natural sounds of objects moving around can be heard throughout each scene. Scene 1 No dialogue Scene 2 No dialogue. Scene 3 No dialogue.  Scene 4 Jayden- ...hello?  Treneé Parker -...uhh...hi, how can I help you? *Stands up and dusts off her pants* Jayden- Yeah, I was wondering where your boss might be? Treneé- That’s me. *says confidently* Jayden- You? You’re the owner of Parker’s Automotive. *says shocked but impressed* Treneé- Um…yes? Jayden- I didn’t know a little lady like you could do a man’s job. *laughs* Treneé- What’s that supposed to mean? Actually never mind just come into the store so I can assist you. Production Blog: Filming

The filming process for this music video was a long one. I decided that I wanted to make changes to the plot of the music video right before I started filming and everything. While filming, I made an accident and followed my storyboard. Then I realized later on that my storyboard was not what I was supposed to be following. I was supposed to follow the changes that I had written down in my "Notes" app on my phone. So once I realized that, I went ahead and made more storage on my filming device. My filming device was just my cell phone. But, I cleared storage by just simply permanently deleting the takes that I didn't need since the plot changed. So while filming, I came across some troubles. Since I was the main character, some times I couldn't make shots the way I wanted to. But, of I had a backup plan. I had to finesse it in one way or another so I had to go ahead and use my backup plan. My backup cameraman was my little sister. Thankfully she was able to help me. I...
