My Commercial

This was my very first commercial ever made. It’s good for it being my first one. Looking back over it, I see things that I can improve in and things that can be fixed. However, this was only my first project, my first time acting and all of that so of course I can always be better and improve. Nonetheless, I am proud of myself and I’m very grateful for my classmates help on my commercial. I can’t wait to do my next project!

Editing Blog: It's Almost There

Today was day 2 of editing. It was one of my most productive days since I've started working on my commercial. When I say I got down to business, I mean that. Today I was able to finish the final draft. I might have to add some final effects to my commercial to make it pop, but that's not a problem with me. After that, my commercial will be 100% done. Like that's so crazy to think that my first project is finished. I'm so excited for everyone to see it. But, today even though it was a very productive day, it was also chaotic. I had my PSAT today which drained me. But, I didn't let that stop me. After my PSAT, I went home and was working on my commercial all day. I was on my grind today. I was able to finish the final draft of my project in about 2 hours. It took so long because there were small details that I had to pay attention to. At the end of the day, no matter how long it took, the editing was still able to get done. Today, I also added an extra app to my ed

Today was day 1 of my editing process. I haven’t edited a video in a long time so I was a bit rusty. But after a while, I got used to it again. I was also able to remember tricks that I usually use while editing. To edit my commercial, my main editing app was iMovie. My back up editing app that I used for cool edits in my commercial, was CapCut. CapCut has somethings that iMovie doesn’t have. While iMovie has somethings that CapCut doesn’t have. So, I used both to make sure that my commercial came out the way that I wanted it to. Today while getting all of my clips together, I noticed that I had re-film some clips. I have to re-film for 3 reasons. One reason was that the clips were never filmed. What I mean by that is the actors were acting, it’s just the camera never pressed play. The second reason is that I ran out of storage and had to make some space to finish filming. The third reason is that it just needs a retake so it can look and flow better when I edit. I have no problem with

Filming Blog: The Last Day of Filming

Today was October 7th, 2021. It was day 2 of filming and the last day to film my commercial. Today was an amazing filming day. I got a lot done in so little time. What I mean by so little time is that today was a Professional Study Day aka PSD. On Professional Study Days, we get out of school at 11:40 and only have less than 1 hour in each class. So, for me to have gotten so much done today, I’m super proud of myself and how I managed my time. Today, filming occurred at the media center stairs that are directly in front of the bus loop (which is shown in the media above). I was able to come up with new ideas to incorporate into my commercial as well. Just like day 1, I had one of my classmates help me out by recording me as I was acting because I am an actor in my own commercial. I was able to film the first half of my commercial today despite the day being pretty short. Today, I also had a problem. My side character in the commercial, was actually absent. So, I had to think fast and c

Filming Blog: The Start of Filming

On Tuesday October 5th, I began my first day of filming. With me being the main character in my commercial, I had to think of how I was going to film and make sure I get all of the necessary angles. So, I decided to have one of my classmates help me out by holding the camera for me. Today, I forgot one of my props so the filming wasn't really in order and I was mainly on the senior patio today. While filming, I had to make a stop to the band room. I had to do this because I had to grab a flag from out of the guard room. There were 3 flags for me to choose from. There was a pink one, a plain black one, and a blue and gray one. I decided to go with the blue and gray one because I felt as though it would go best with the costume I had for the side character. So after my stop to the band room, I had to make another stop. I had to stop to the bathroom because my actors had to do a costume change. Once I finished making my stops, I went back to filming. Filming went smoothly. My actors l
