Creative Critical Reflection

This is my CCR, Creative Critical Reflection. I was able to take a deep dive into my music video with this reflection. I never thought I could deeply analyze a music video how I did with these questions. I was able to really think, on a higher level, what a music video can do for our communities. My PowerPoint has each slide with either one of the four CCR questions, or the answer to those questions. I really enjoyed being able to deeply analyze my music video. Even though somedays were stressful and the acting was bad, I really had fun making this music video.

My Music Video

This is my music video project. The plot is am independent businesswoman’s everyday life. She packages orders for her small business daily. She wakes up, picks out her clothes and gets ready for work. She hops in her car and goes to work. She does paperwork and then goes home and repeats. She just has an overall independent mindset and works hard to get what she wants. This was my very first music video ever made. I personally think that’s it’s okay for it being my first one. The editing/filming may be mediocre but looking back over it, I can definitely see things that I can improve in and things that can be fixed. I’ve seen the mistakes made with this music video and I will definitely improve. Nonetheless, I am proud of myself and I’m very grateful for my family’s help on my music video. I can’t wait to do my next project!

Production Blog: The Process

The journey of making this music video was very hectic. I had to realize that I needed to have a lot of patience on this whole adventure. Filming, editing, and producing is very fun. But, there will always be struggles. Nothing is ever going to be perfect. During this process, I had days where I just had to sit back and take deep breaths because things weren't going how I wanted them to. But, then again, not everything is going to go how you want it to. I was even struggling when I was trying to pick the song for my music video. It literally took me about a week to figure out what song I wanted to do for my music video. Gladly, I was finally able to pick. Filming was even a struggle for me. It was a struggle because I was the main character and I had to figure out ways to film. I ended up having my sister help me. I’m so grateful for her. I had struggles editing as well. There was struggles editing because my editing software would sometimes glitch and wouldn’t work. But, I was abl

Production Blog: Editing

I started my editing process at the start of December. To edit my music video, I only used 1 app. That app was CapCut. CapCut is a really good editing software. I've used it multiple times before so I knew the basics and how to get around it. I really love editing videos too so editing is natural for me. While getting all of my clips together to edit, my phone kept acting slow. I realized that it was acting slow because I didn’t have any storage. But, I was able to clear some of my storage so I could edit without my phone acting slow. While editing, I realized that some clips needed a retake so it can flow better with the plot. So, I ended up filming those scenes over while editing. After that, I was able to put all of my clips together and edit my music video. Even though I cleared my storage, my phone would glitch instead of moving slow. I would get aggravated from it as well but I had to be patient and calm down. Thankfully, I was able to stop the glitches. All I had to do was

Production Blog: Filming

The filming process for this music video was a long one. I decided that I wanted to make changes to the plot of the music video right before I started filming and everything. While filming, I made an accident and followed my storyboard. Then I realized later on that my storyboard was not what I was supposed to be following. I was supposed to follow the changes that I had written down in my "Notes" app on my phone. So once I realized that, I went ahead and made more storage on my filming device. My filming device was just my cell phone. But, I cleared storage by just simply permanently deleting the takes that I didn't need since the plot changed. So while filming, I came across some troubles. Since I was the main character, some times I couldn't make shots the way I wanted to. But, of I had a backup plan. I had to finesse it in one way or another so I had to go ahead and use my backup plan. My backup cameraman was my little sister. Thankfully she was able to help me. I

Production Blog: The Change

During the whole process of making my music video, there was a realization that I received. That realization was that some parts of the plot, made no sense whatsoever. So, changes were made to the music video's plot. The changes were made right before the filming process started. The storyboard and planning were both finished, but I wasn't content with the plot. I would much rather be content with the plot of my music video than post a music video that I don't feel comfortable about. So, there were multiple changes in the whole plan of the music video. There was changes in characters, the storyline, and even a location. So the music video will no longer have a man character in it anymore. It will only have the woman. There will be 2 new locations added to the location list for the music video. The first one will be my personal car. The second one will be my personal bathroom in my house. And of course, the plot will be changed as well. So, the first couple of scenes will st
